Richmond: Broadway and Hollywood creatives have united with a mission to create, develop and share LGBTQ+ focused stories with a Central Virginian twist. Emmy-Award winning Executive Producer Andrew Wilcox and Broadway writer and performer Ken Arpino have formed a new production company called Pals of Dorothy. With 4M+ views already on YouTube, Pals of Dorothy is eager to bring representation to the LGBTQ+ community of Virginia.

The team’s latest work, a short film titled “Also With You,” will premiere early next year. The film is set in Lynchburg, VA and follows four friends exploring sex positivity and discovering their own rules to live by as they swing into “unholy predicaments” in an otherwise conservative landscape.

When asked why he selected Virginia as the backdrop for the film, Central VA resident Arpino responded, “I didn’t feel represented in media. There are lots of stories about LGBT life in the big cities, but what about the rest of us?”

“Also With You” is just the first in what promises to be a very entertaining roster of upcoming film, TV and animation projects from the production studio.

Pals of Dorothy’s first viral hit, “The Queens Project,” is a fast-paced comedic series about a fellowship of gay nerds hilariously stumbling in their quest towards adulthood. The cast is stuffed with Broadway veterans including Ken Arpino, Chris Dwan, Andre Jordan, Casey Garvin, and Ian Paget, along with prime time regulars BJ Gruber and Trey Gerrald. The show has garnered international attention and will move into a longer form episodic format in 2020. You can now stream all three seasons of the series on YouTube and follow @TQPseries on social media.
